This year when we watched the Super Bowl we had to also tune into the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. It seems that whenever we watch anything on our large-screen TV, Lolly is fascinated with any image of a dog. She sits up, and then starts barking.

So naturally, when the Puppy Bowl was on Lolly immediately took notice. She barked, then jumped out of my lap to inspect the on-screen activities. Lolly seemed puzzled that the puppies did not notice her barking. So she barked louder, determined to play with those other puppies.

Finally she ran up the stairs and out of the basement trying to find the other dogs. I think the Puppy Bowl was sensory overload. Thankfully the Kitty Half Time Show came on immediately after.

I missed Valentine's Day, but as a belated celebration here are the top ten reasons I love my sweet little Lolly.

10. At 7 months old, she snores like an old man.
9. Anytime I sit down, she curls right up in my lap.
8. She has expertly learned the command "sit." Still working on anything beyond that.
7. She cocks her head when she hears my voice.
6. When she was born, she had a huge white stripe on her face. It's not quite as wide now but it is still there.
5. Her heart-shaped nose.
4. She sometimes will steal one of my socks. If I don't run after her immediately she will walk up to me, wait, then run away.
3. She gives lots of kisses. Sometimes they are kisses, sometimes it's to sample what I just ate.
2. As the daycare owner observed, Lolly is fearless. She loves playing with all dogs, even ones 4 times her size.
1. Every morning when I wake up she is always excited, like it's the first time we ever met.

New Home

We have finally moved and are getting settled into our new home. We have made a few changes with Lolly, which seem to be working out well. We stopped using puppy pads and Lolly has adjusted to letting us know when she needs to go out.

We also started using a new pet sitter for Lolly during the day, which has also gone well. Then again, Lolly loves anyone who comes to visit her for any reason. She has also been meeting the neighbor dogs. Her new best friend is JoDi, the Bichon Frise who lives several doors down. Whenever they see each other, they love to play chase. JoDi is seven years old and very well-trained so his owner keeps him off leash. Unfortunately Lolly is still on a leash, but she still loves to follow JoDi around.

Eric and I also discovered a new doggy daycare that recently opened near us. We’re looking forward to visiting and hopefully registering Lolly. She loves her daily walk, but sometimes a pup just needs to run around like crazy.

In all, everyone is adjusting well. Eric and I continue to unpack boxes, and Lolly supervises as you can see from the picture.
